Our journey began with someone very close to the founder - his little sister. She is autistic, with heightened senses that make everyday environments feel overwhelming. A trip to the doctor, something most of us take for granted, can be incredibly stressful for her. The long queues, crowded waiting rooms, noise, and unpredictability often lead to anxiety and emotional overload.
As he moved further away from home, his parents became the ones responsible for taking her to appointments. Over time, it became harder: the travel, the waiting, the emotional toll, all of it felt exhausting and unfair, not just for his sister, but for thousands of families across Sri Lanka facing similar challenges.
During his time abroad, he saw how other countries had embraced telehealth, not as a luxury, but as a necessity. It wasn’t just a video call with a doctor; it was a system built around accessibility, dignity, and patient comfort.
He wondered why Sri Lanka didn’t have something like this. Yes, there had been attempts, but they were technology-first, not people-first. They weren’t shaped by clinicians or the realities of Sri Lankan families.
So he returned to the drawing board.
He spent months speaking with Sri Lankan doctors, specialists, patients, and caregivers to understand what actually mattered. He built the first version from his own savings. And at the heart of it was one simple goal: to create a system that makes healthcare easier for families like his, for people with disabilities, and for anyone who deserves a kinder way to access care.

Clinecxa was born from a simple but powerful idea: healthcare should be easier, kinder, and more accessible for everyone, especially for families like mine. Watching my little sister struggle with appointments, being overwhelmed by her environment, and knowing my parents had to handle them while I was far away, made me wish I could be there to support them too.
I also saw the challenges clinicians face in Sri Lanka. Unlike in some other countries, they often juggle long commutes, heavy patient loads, and endless queues, which adds stress and reduces the time they can give to each patient. I wanted to change that. A system that gives clinicians better work-life balance leads to happier, less stressed doctors...and that directly means better care for patients.
There are so many people in similar situations, living far from their parents and families back home, caring for someone with a disability, or juggling work, life, and financial pressures. Healthcare shouldn’t add to that burden.
Our mission is to change all of this. Clinecxa is built to put people first: patients, caregivers, and clinicians alike. Every feature, every process, every decision is guided by one goal: to make healthcare simpler, safer, and more compassionate for everyone, no matter where they are or what their circumstances.
